Top 5 reasons why Dhoni has stepped down from ODI and T20 Captaincy

On January 4th, 2017 there was a shocking news for Indian Cricket fans when they heard the news about Mahendra Singh Dhoni's decision to quit from Captaincy role in ODI and T20 format. Since Dhoni has already retired from the Test format, we won't be able to see him playing captain role in international matches. Under the Dhoni Captaincy, India won ICC T20 world cup in 2007, ICC ODI world cup in 2011 and Champion Trophy in 2013. No, Indian Captain has achieved this glory.

Out Of Form

2016 is not a good year for the Dhoni because there are no remarkable innings scoring good runs. Out of 16 ODI's in 2016, he scored around 278 and with the highest score of 80. Dhoni might have thought to handover captaincy to someone else before someone asks him to announce the news.

Gap

Since Dhoni has already retired from the test career, there is gap more than 77days since he played ODI match. During this period, there were few test matches and Virat Kohli continuous good performance has attracted BCCI management to inclined towards the Virat Kohli for the Captaincy

Age

Dhoni has previously declared that he will be retiring from the Cricket at the 35. At the moment, Dhoni's age is 35. He might be thinking giving up responsibilities for the upcoming generations

IPL Pressure

Because of match Fixing controversy, the Chennai Super kings was banned, he became captain for Rising Pune Supergiants team. Their team was out of the league as they couldn't able to score points league matches.

Concentrate on Game

With constant pressure from the critics about the form and losing the matches might also be a reason for leaving captaincy. Dhoni might have thought of retaining his form by replacing his position with a new captain.

Dhoni is always unpredictable and he shocked everyone with his decisions announcing that he test career retirement. Yesterday, he announced that he stepping down from ODI and T20 Captaincy. Let's hope he will not announce the retirement for the ODI and T20 format until next 2019 world cup.
